Nissan Primastar (02 - present)
The Primastar - one of Nissan’s most popular medium-size panel vans to date - is the result of a joint venture with Renault. Consequently, there are some similarities between it and Renault’s own Trafic, but this isn’t a bad thing. There’s also a few different versions of the Primastar available, and it was face-lifted in 2010 to give it an improved and more contemporary appearance. Both older and newer models have really nicely built cabins; the more recent ones have a car-type feel to them. They’re comfortable, have a decent amount of kit, and there’s plenty of space for the driver and passengers to move about. Practicality in the back is equally as impressive. The load space is one of the finest in its class, it can take anywhere between 5.0 and 8.4 cubic metres. At a squeeze, the smallest version of the Primastar can probably fit three euro-pallets, which is hugely impressive. In terms of driving, for a van it doesn’t get much easier than the Primastar. It’s very easy to manage, visibility is good, and the ride quality is decent enough.
