BMW X3 (11 - present)
This can compete with the best; it is bigger, better equipped and can match rivals on and off the road – there is more ground clearance. The cabin is outstanding and the engines really deliver power and torque. There’s a good range of those powerful engines and they’re quite efficient. There is decent storage space in the boot and overall this X3 is a real option for families because it is so roomy and has such excellent handling.
Look out for

Beautiful 2017 BMW X3 xDrive xLine Automatic in superb condition. The car will be sold on Irish plates (VRT included in the price), registered to the county of the new owner. It will come with a new 2-year NCT, as well as a 6-month warranty, extendable to 12 or 24 months. The car looks great in the Melbourne Red paintwork and Nevada Oyster leather upholstery, and it drives beautifully. Being the xLine model, it has a very good specification. It also had a detachable Brink towbar fitted (approx €1k value), used mainly for a bicycle carrier, and has four good Pirelli tyres. We acquired this car directly from its previous owner, a doctor in Northern Ireland, who was only selling as he was emigrating to New Zealand. No expense has been spared in maintaining it, with records confirming comprehensive BMW servicing since new.
