Toyota GT86 (12 - present)
Toyota sports cars have been rare in recent years – Irish buyers longed for the return of the likes of the MR2, Celica, and Supra. Here it is, the GT86. It looks stunning and has had the experts singing its praises from Day One. It can be a sizzler but the big thing about it is how enjoyable it is at moderate speeds, thanks to an excellent chassis. Cabin space is understandably limited but the seats are quite comfortable. The boot is decent size and can store some large items like a set of golf clubs. On the road, the handling is superb with a real sharp feel to the body and steering. Cornering is its forte. Great fun in a car that doesn’t cost the earth.
