As well as a minor facelift, it’s been future-proofed with a new range of engines that already meet the emission limits set by new Euro 6 standards being introduced in 2015, the interior has gotten a refresh and it’s been given a whole load of new techy features. It offers a remarkably quiet driving experience, that’s smooth and cosseting for your passengers and can hold its own on the motorway without the faintest sign of protest. Running costs are predictably low and the ‘small but tough’ motto that Volkswagen have branded it with should reassure you that these cars are built to last.
