Volkswagen Polo (09 - 14)
The Polo – often nicknamed a tiny tank because of its exceptional build quality - is probably the most popular name in the small car segment. This version is definitely one of the most upmarket you can get. It’s modelled so closely on the popular Golf that is basically just a miniature version of it. Compared with the previous model, it has been improved a lot in almost every department. For example it has even more space in the cabin, it can seat five, and leg/head room will not be a problem. The materials used in the cabin also look and feel much better in terms of quality, and standard kit is better. The dashboard is well put together and easy on the eye. The layout is uncomplicated and everything is clearly marked. In terms of driving, the Polo has always been one of the best small cars. The older generations make great first-time cars and are strong sellers in the used car market. It handles well, the steering is sharp, responsive, and well-weighted with the gear change seamless.
