Unlike its competitors, the Berlingo is not based on a van, it’s based on the substructure of a car, which makes it more comfortable and handier to drive. There’s been some big improvements and Citroen have really pulled out all the stops to ensure this version is even more sophisticated and practical than before. The interior itself is very spacious and comfortable, with enough room to easily seat five adults. Leg and head room is in abundance and there’s plenty of adjustment in the versatile seats. For example, you can remove the back ones in order to increase the already impressive storage space. The design of the cabin doesn’t really spring any surprises, although it does look well. There’s also a generous level of standard kit in the car so you’re getting good value for money. In terms of driving, the Berlingo Multispace is a really competent performer. The new suspension set-up, coupled with the enhanced handling and supple ride, means it feels so much more composed than before.
