BMW X5 (13 - present)
This is the third incarnation of the X5 and BMW have made a real success of blending luxury, design and comfort with driving enjoyment, safety and efficiency. In terms of styling, it is one of the best looking in its class and has almost established itself as the cornerstone for all luxury SUVs. It commands huge road presence and thanks to its large dimensions, is instantly recognisable. The interior oozes refinement and comfort, and there’s tons of room for passengers to stretch their legs. There is also an impressively large boot for added practicality. In terms of engines, there are some fantastic, powerful and robust choices available. Each one is surprisingly efficient and economical. In terms of driving, it is one of the most dynamic SUVs you are likely to see, and, like the outgoing model, the X5 performs like a high-end saloon.
