Volvo S90 (16 - Present)
The S90 is the latest offering from Volvo in the executive saloon market. With the all-new S90 Volvo will be hoping to drag execs away from the standard BMW 5 Series, Audi A6 and Mercedes-Benz E-Class. The S90 is designed on the same platform as the excellent XC90. There are currently two engines on offer, a D4 and D5. The D4 comes with 190bhp, low CO2 emissions of 116g/km, combined fuel economy of 64mpg and a 0 to 100kph time of 8.2 seconds, all very impressive. The D5 comes with Volvo's PowerPulse system and ups the power to 235bhp with similar economy but a reduced sprint to 100kph of just 7 seconds. In time the S90 will also be offered with the T8 Twin Engine - Volvos turbocharged petrol engine combined with plug-in hybrid power. This technological masterpiece offers 316bhp and tiny emissions of just 44g/km of CO2. Standard equipment on the Volvo S90 is very generous, the entry level Momentum comes with leather seats, LED headlights, Sat-Nav and Volvos adaptive cruise control - Pilot Assist. The Pilot Assist system will look after steering up to 80mph by continually monitoring the area in front of the car. The S90 proves an exceptionally comfortable cruiser with a luxurious interior full of soft touch high quality materials. Volvo have certainly created sometime very desirable with the S90 and it is worth considering if you believe that if everybody looked the same we'd get tired of looking at each other.
