Volkswagen Beetle (12 - present)
No car blends modern performance with retro appeal quite like the Volkswagen Beetle. It's got a strong history here in Ireland. In fact, the very first Volkswagen built outside Germany was assembled in Ballsbridge in Dublin back in 1950. While much has changed since then, we are still very fond of the bug here and they continue to sell and hold their value very well. The latest Beetle has a more contemporary, sporty look than older versions which has widened its appeal considerably. There's a choice of fun and frugal engines and its sporty handling makes for an engaging drive. It might not be the most practical choice in the world as room in the back and bootspace concede to that iconic silhouette, but still, nothing makes a statement quite like it.
